New Delhi, July 25: In building the students’ community in a prospective way, the Zou Sangnaupang Pawlpi (Zou Students’ Association) conducted its first ever seminar on Career Guidance here in Munirka yesterday. Zou students from all the corners of Delhi gathered at the seminar.
ZSP Delhi Branch President Mr. Khaibiaklian said, “The seminar aims to enlighten the minds of the students and those who are preparing for competitive examinations. With great expectation in future, a seminar is being organised today.”
The resource persons includes a distinguish scholar Dr. David Vumlallian Zou, Assistant Professor, Delhi University and Assistant Commandant Mr. Stephen Doukhanlun, who recently cracked the prestigious Civil Service Examination.
The seminar on Career Guidance breaks in two shifts. Mr. Zamlianmang chaired the first shift and Mr. Lawrence Kapkhenmang Munluo, the second shift. The seminar began with an opening prayer by Miss Naomi Haumuanching, Finance Secretary, ZSP Delhi Branch.
In the first shift Dr. David Vumlallian Zou gave an indepth focused on academic careers. “In Delhi University, every college has their own strong department. Students must better look at such department, not just simply relying on the college,” advised Dr. David Zou.
Dr. Zou also focused on Legal Studies, Women Vocational trainings, Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) and others. He recommended the students to read the journals of their respective subject.
In the second shift, Mr. Stephen Doukhanlun dedicated few minutes to Mr. Thangzalun Khuptong, one of his consults, to have a speech. Brother Thangzalun shared some of his view points. He observed, “A graduate must better prepare for UPSC, as it is the mother of all competitive examinations. The efforts one’s devoted for SSC or Banking is not less than that of Civil Service Exams. Try to grasp the advantage of being in the national capital.”
Focusing extensively on UPSC Civil Service Examinations, Stephen passionately encouraged the audience, “If you have faith and hope, you are sure to reach your destination.”
“If you have a strong determination for Civil Services, you can prepare. It needs more time and energy. One has to wait the outcome without losing hope and faith,” he added.
Pastor T. Lalpu, MELC Delhi expressed his happiness for bringing out such a wonderful guidance to the students. Pastor Liankholal, Delhi Presbyterian Church (PCI-R) shared his appreciations to the ZSP leaders.
A prominent Editor of ZOLENGTHE.net, Mr. T. Zamlunmang Zou suggested career guidance must be organised atleast once in a year and separate budget must be set aside.
“We have been campaigning in advance. Earlier, we had visited our members in Noida (UP) and Gurgaon (Haryana) for this seminar,” said Mr. Kamlianlal, Education Secretary, ZSP Delhi Branch.
