New Delhi, Feb 15, 2011: The Zou Sangnaupang Pawlpi, (Zou Students’ Association) Delhi on Monday evening held a condolence meeting at the sudden demise of Mr ZSP Fresher 2010 S Thanglunlal Zou (25). The deceased allegedly shot himself into dead on Sunday night at his residence in Moreh. On the fateful night Lal took out his father’s gun and ended his life while everyone has gone to the church. The reason behind this was not yet known. The incident has sent shock waves among the ZSP members in the capital.
To show sympathetic sorrow, a condolence meeting was organised at the residence of Shri Khakhai Zou, president, Zou Youth Organisation, in Vasant Vihar. The meeting chairman Mr Lawrence K. Munluo expressed profound shock and grief at the untimely demised of their fellow member. The meeting began with the prayer of Mr Zamlianmang, sports secretary, ZSPD.
Mr David Zamminthang, a childhood friend of the deceased gave brief report about his friend. According to David, “They studied Class VIII to X in St George High School in Moreh during 2001-2004. They departed their ways in 2006. His friend did 10+2 (Sc) in JIM Higher Secondary School, Imphal while he did the same in Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong”.
“After three years, Lal finished Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong. Aiming to crack MBA entrance exam, he joined TIME Coaching Institute in Satya Niketan, south Delhi last year. He works hard day and night to fulfill his dream,” says David, a student of BA (History) in Jamia Millia Islamia University.
David said they were a roommate since last September. “He left Delhi for Christmas celebration in early December. He is supposed to return back by this time. Now he is no more. I missed him,” David added.
Mr Christopher, whose wife is a closed relative of the deceased, said: “Lal and David rented the upper floor where we lived. Lal is an innocent boy. We were shocked to hear his dead”.
Pastor S K Mung prayed for the departed soul and the bereaved family. The ZYO president Khakhai Zou also deeply condoled the tragic death of Thanglunlal.
Everyone praised Thanglunlal, Mr ZSP Fresher for his kindness. A reliable source also says that the boy had fallen in love with a Khasi girl, research scholar (Ph D) in Shillong. As soon as the news spread, the girl flew from Shillong to Imphal. Moreh is about 110 kms away. Though a melancholic journey, she bid adieu to her sweetheart on this Valentine’s Day.
On behalf of the students, ZSP president Khaibiaklian said: “We lost our beloved brother who holds the title of Mr Fresher 2010. Today we expressed our deep sorrow and ask the blessings of Almighty for the bereaved family”. The meeting came to an end with the humble prayer of Mrs Vungneiching.
